I would just get it running and safely driving, and keep it as is.

id do a concours restoration on it depending on how complete the car is.

Survivor's are bringing about as much money nowadays though. Plus, I live somewhere where I could drive it year-round, so I wouldn't want a concours. Then again, it could be Swiss cheese and need a complete resto.

plates are from Kansas so im guessing there is rust around the bottom of the windshield and the floors and trunk. if that is original paint then maybe clean it up, if its been painted once though, full tilt resto.

Not exactly a 100% original with the MSD box, air cleaner, coil, 12si alternator, maybe some other odds and ends.

the msd box, is no big deal, the coil relocation is dumb but fixable, its still worth restoring to stock if the motor, tranny, and rear end are original and #s matching to the car. the level of resto you want to go though could make replacing some of the engine parts a pain depending if you want to go all the way down to date code correct parts the match the build date on the trim tag.

Absolutely. If all the key parts are there it's good. It's just not sitting there factory stock.

very few made it through the 70's and 80's without something done to them. luckily this is a later build Z/28, has a correct width rear spoiler and a cowl hood, you can see the original wire that runs up to the flapper so its more desirable to more people if looking to sell,
wait, if its original paint on the trunk its not a factory spoiler car. its a dealer add on based on the where the stripes end just noticed that

If he's got papers for it I don't know what would really matter.

that's the key ticket there, paperwork. it depends on which plant the car was built at for a chance at a build sheet. I would make the safe guess that its a Norwood car so there could be a sheet, pretty much all Van Nuys cars didn't get them.

At least it's under cover, I guess. Poor Z/28!
